HOT BATHROOM TRENDS

Bathroom Design & Remodels

As you probably know, bathrooms and kitchens can be very expensive to update and
remodel.  However, there are many cost effective ways to add instant value and appeal to
your home.  According to current research, a bathroom remodel will give you 80 - 102%
return on your investment.

At Fogarty & Fogarty Plumbing,
we focus on value!  We follow the trends and make
recommendations based on what we know will provide you with the bathroom look you want
without looking trendy or dated in the years to come.

WHAT'S HOT!  Brushed stainless, nickel, oil rubbed bronze, antique black and
antique brass
NOT - polished brass, black and white gloss finishes

WHAT'S HOT!  Tiled bathroom floors with radiant heat
NOT - carpet in the bathroom

WHAT'S HOT!  Taller vanities with granite and solid surface tops.  Hand painted
vanities.
NOT - run of the mill vanities with laminate tops

WHAT'S HOT!  Comfort height toilets.  Separate tub and showers.  In smaller
bathrooms, shower conversions.
NOT - Tub/shower combination in a master suite.

WHAT'S HOT!  Towel warmers, rain shower heads, body sprays, upholstered
furniture in the bathroom as well as armoires and antique pieces.

IS THE CURRENT TREND RIGHT FOR YOU?

First off, let's define the word trend.  It is what is going on now and anticipated to
continue.  Be careful when following current trends.  What is hot now, may very well
look dated in 10 years.  Remember the pink and blue tubs from the 50's?  How about
Avocado and Goldenrod from the 70's?  You couldn't have forgotten the Mauve and
Cranberry from the 80's?  Perhaps Forest Green from the 90's?  These colors all
have one thing in common, they were hot, they were a trend, and now they are ALL
dated!

HERE'S the GOOD NEWS!

Classics never go out of style.  You can take a classic and give it a new twist for a
fresh look.  Always think classic - not trendy, unless you want to redo your bathroom
every ten years.  We recommend the tried and true.  Victorian Era is charming, Early
American appears dated to most.  Old World never went out of style, 60's is still
dated for most.

Predictions

Brushed stainless and nickel will look dated in fifteen years.  However, brushed
bronze, chrome, and antique black will look antique, not dated.

Taller vanities and comfort height toilets will become the standard.

White and almond fixtures will continue to be the top choices of homeowners.  With
color on the walls, towels, bathrugs, and accessories it is easy to change the look of
your bathroom.
